An interactive tool for exploring how District 65 spends its Educational Fund budget. Select categories using the preset buttons or the checkbox tree to see spending as a share of the budget, in dollars, or per pupil over time.

Check one or more peer districts to compare D65 against the same comparable districts used in the enrollment analysis. In compare mode, the selected categories are summed into a single total and plotted as one line per district — letting you ask, for example, “how does D65’s per-pupil special-education spending compare to its peers?”

Data source: ISBE Annual Financial Reports (FY2012–FY2025) for each district plus D65’s adopted FY2026 budget, via districtvitals.com. On-behalf/pension payments are excluded to focus on district-controlled spending. Per-pupil figures use each district’s official 9-month ADA (the ISBE Operating-Expense-Per-Pupil denominator). Because districts split costs across the Education, O&M, and Transportation funds differently, cross-district levels are approximate — comparing shares of budget and trends is more robust.
